As God was calling Corinth—and calling ShoreLife—into a richer life of righteousness through obedience, He was also calling them into something beautiful: The Good Life. When Scripture says, “Dear Church, Be Good,” it is also whispering, “Dear Church, Experience Good.” Obedience is not a cage; it is a doorway. It is the path into the life Jesus actually wants for His people.
This summer, as we explore The Good Life of Jesus Christ, I want us to see and taste the goodness God pours out on those who follow Him. A life of discipleship is not a rigid checklist. It is a life overflowing with goodness—goodness the world tries to imitate but can never sustain. The Good Life of Christ is real, it is rich, and it is meant to be shared. We are invited to experience it, and we are called to invite others into it.
What’s astonishing is that we won’t even scratch the surface. We won’t cover all the goodness Christ offers, nor will we mine the depths of each goodness. But we willbegin to see that following Jesus is not about restriction—it’s about restoration. Not about pressure—it’s about promise. Not about religious performance—it’s about spiritual abundance.
Church, I hope we are ready. I hope we are eager. I hope we step into this summer with open hands and open hearts, ready to discover the life Jesus has called us to—the life He delights to give.
