We hold to a five-fold purpose which will enable ShoreLife to fulfill the mission that God has given us to accomplish...

To be a  L I G H T  in this world

LIVING in Community

ShoreLife is our home church and our consistent presence with the body of believers is a continual priority.

This is the model of the early church (Acts 2:46-47) and necessary to carry out the design that God has for the church (Romans 12:4-5).

Community is carried through regular meeting with each other (Hebrews 10:25).

INVESTING in God's Kingdom

The treasures God has entrusted to us are invested in the church through obedient and faithful stewardship.

The promise in scripture is that we will be blessed through our cheerful, purposeful,

and free giving as God has prospered us (Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-9).

It is this giving that supplies those in need and glorifies God (2 Corinthians 9:12).

GROWING in Christ-likeness

A light may start out dim or fade, but we are called to grow our light and continually shine it in dark places.

Though our journey is never complete until we reach glory (Philippians 3:12),

we are in the process of becoming more like Christ (Ephesians 5:1-2), living as He lived (Colossians 2:6, I John 2:6).

HELPING through Giftings

Using our giftedness, talents and time, we are active in serving, and serving alongside of, the ShoreLife body of Christ.

We are created to do the work of God (Ephesians 2:10) which He graciously allows us to do.

This was modeled by the early church (Acts 2:42-47; 4:32-35) and we are gifted by the Spirit for this very purpose

(Romans 12:6-8; I Corinthians 12:7; Ephesians 4:11-13).

It is serving others that we serve God (Matthew 25:31-46).

TELLING and Inviting

Showing the love of Christ and inviting others into the ShoreLife community, we share the Gospel and our hope in Christ.

This is the call of the church, to proclaim that Jesus Christ is God, the Messiah who has come,

to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10; Matthew 16:15-19; 28:18-20).
