Dr. Brent Strawsburg

Brent, became Lead Pastor January 1999. He and his wife Cheri have been married for 30 years. Brent received his Master of Divinity from Talbot Theological Seminary and his Doctor of Ministry from Dallas Theological Seminary. Cheri is a teacher for the Long Beach Unified School District. Brent and Cheri have been blessed with two adult children who both recently got married. Michael married his college sweetheart, Bethany, in 2009 after both of them met at Biola University. Janelle married Brad Benham in 2010 after meeting at Pepperdine University.

Pastor Brent is an avid sports fan.  He loves ESPN, college sports, the NBA and the NFL!  He recently ran a Half-Marathon at the Surf City Marathon/Half-Marathon in Huntington Beach.  He and Cheri love to watch Biggest Loser and Parenthood.  He’s competitive in almost everything…especially Bocce, Cornhole and virtually any table game.

Pastor Brent has a gift and passion for teaching the Bible in a way that is clear and applicable. Ever since his call to ministry nearly 30 years ago, Brent has felt a call to disciple, train and mentor people in their spiritual journey with Christ. His primary responsibilities include the overall spiritual direction and health of ShoreLife, the primary teaching role on Sunday, directing the staff and elders and modeling out the corporate values of our church.
